From previous sessions i have been told my tutoring sessions are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I start by identifying the areas the student finds most challenging, whether that’s algebra, geometry, probability, or exam technique. From there, I plan lessons that focus on building a strong understanding of the topic step by step.

Each lesson usually begins with a quick recap of previous material or a short starter question to refresh key concepts. I then explain the new topic clearly using worked examples, breaking down each step so it’s easy to follow. After that, students practise similar questions themselves while I guide them and provide hints where needed. This helps build confidence and ensures they understand the method rather than just memorising it.

A key part of my lessons is exam practice. I regularly use GCSE-style questions to help students become familiar with the format, wording, and mark schemes used in exams. I also teach strategies for approaching difficult problems and managing time effectively during tests.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and interactive. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as that’s an important part of learning. I adapt the pace and difficulty of the lesson depending on the student’s level, whether they need help strengthening foundations or pushing towards higher grades.

Overall, my goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop confidence in maths and problem-solving.
