Chiamaka Ugwu

My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's level, learning pace, and individual needs. I particularly enjoy working with beginners and students who may find mathematics challenging or need extra guidance to build their confidence.

I begin each lesson by identifying what the student already understands and the areas they find difficult. I then introduce new concepts gradually, using simple explanations, real-life examples, visual demonstrations, and step-by-step problem-solving techniques. I avoid overwhelming students with too much information at once and give them enough time to practise and understand each concept before moving forward.

My lessons are interactive rather than simply lecture-based. I encourage students to participate, answer questions, work through examples, explain their thinking, and ask questions whenever they are unsure. I also use practice exercises to check understanding and identify areas that require further explanation.

My academic background in Applied Microbiology has developed my analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities. My professional experience in web content development has also strengthened my communication, writing, research, and ability to explain information clearly to different audiences.

As a tutor, I am patient, friendly, encouraging, organised, and attentive to detail. I understand that students learn differently, so I adapt my methods instead of expecting every learner to follow the same approach. I encourage students to learn from mistakes and see difficult questions as opportunities to improve.

My goal is not only to help students get the correct answer but also to help them understand why the answer is correct. I want every student to leave my lessons feeling more confident, capable, and comfortable with mathematics.
