?? Hello! I’m Cherry Wong, a Qualified Chinese Teacher
I’m a passionate and experienced Mandarin and Cantonese teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience, including several years working in UK schools. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have taught learners of all ages and backgrounds — from beginners discovering their first Chinese characters to advanced students preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams.
?? Lesson Format
My lessons are structured but flexible, ensuring every student feels supported and challenged:
Warm-up & Review (5–10 mins) – quick recap of previous material or a fun speaking activity to get you thinking in Chinese.
Main Lesson (30 mins) – introduction of new language through engaging contexts (videos, stories, or real-life scenarios). We’ll practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing together.
Practice & Feedback (10–15 mins) – guided exercises, conversation practice, or cultural discussions with immediate feedback.
Wrap-up (5 mins) – summary of key points and optional homework to reinforce learning.
?? Lesson Focus & Style
Tailored lessons for GCSE, A-Level, HSK, or daily communication.
Emphasis on communication skills and cultural understanding — learning how Chinese is really used.
Use of authentic materials (songs, short clips, articles) to make lessons lively and relevant.
Supportive, patient, and encouraging teaching style to build students’ confidence.
?? My Experience
Over 10 years of experience teaching Chinese in both Hong Kong and the UK.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
Proven track record of helping students achieve top grades and develop a genuine love for the Chinese language and culture.
