I have tutored maths since I was an undergraduate student at Oxford University 18 years ago. Since then I have worked as a teacher in schools including in an international school in Shanghai and enjoy taking on a few private students alongside my classroom work. My students have taken courses including A-level Maths and Further Maths, (I)GCSE Maths and Additional Maths, AQA Level 2 Further Maths, IBDP and IBMYP Maths, lower secondary/KS3. I have also supported students with University entry preparation including MAT and STEP.

I have an excellent track record of leading students to positive outcomes and progress based on their starting points, both as a teacher and tutor often helping students to achieve levels exceeding their expectations. I am DBS checked and have numerous testimonials from students I have tutored.

Strengths of my work include my ability to assess students’ attainment and build upon what they already know, flexibility to meet individual needs, clarity of explanations and patience. I am very aware with the demands of different courses and exam boards and will always plan my lessons in a focused way involving exam technique as needed. Where appropriate I am happy to provide and mark follow up work from my lessons.

I live in Oxford and am available to tutor either face to face within OX1 and OX2 postcodes (OX3/4/5 possible by arrangement) or online.
