I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker currently studying for a Master’s degree at UCL in London. I offer friendly and practical Mandarin lessons for students who would like to start learning Chinese or become more confident using it in everyday situations.

My lessons can be adapted to your individual level and goals. For beginners, we can start with pronunciation, Pinyin, useful vocabulary and simple sentence structures, gradually building towards everyday conversations. If you already have some knowledge of Mandarin, we can focus more on speaking practice, pronunciation, vocabulary and natural expressions.

I understand that learning a new language can sometimes feel difficult or intimidating, so I aim to explain things clearly and at a comfortable pace. As someone who studies and lives in an English-speaking environment, I can communicate comfortably in both Mandarin and English and use English explanations when needed to make Chinese grammar, vocabulary and expressions easier to understand.

Lessons will be relaxed, supportive and personalised rather than following exactly the same format for every student. Before we begin, we can discuss what you would like to achieve, whether that is learning Mandarin from scratch, improving your conversational skills, practising pronunciation, or simply becoming more confident speaking Chinese.

Beginners and adult learners are very welcome!
