The aim of my sessions is to build confidence and promote a love of learning. I plan indivualised lessons which cater to the interests and needs of each learner- as every child is different. In the past, I have planned and delivered sessions on topics including Harry Potter, Superheroes and Guinea Pigs and Pokemon!

During the sessions, children can expect to play games linked to our learning. This might included online games or traditional board games. If I am tutoring in person, I like to plan in active learning activities so he can get up out of our seats and get our bodies moving. This then helps concentration later on and is also a lot of fun!

I have an excellent knowledge of the UK primary school National Curriuclum and have supported children from age 5 to age 11. I have many resources I can use ti support children with theor phonics in preparation for the Year 1 screening check and have supported many Year 6 children through their SATs exams with excellent results.

When working with home-educating families, I am led by the family and child and have often planned whole topics/projects based on the child's interests that incorporate English, Maths and Science skills in addition to Art, Humatities etc. I really relish the challenge and enjoy the variety when planning these sessions.

I am proactive in furthering my knowledge and understanding and have completed a number of courses including: Supporting Dyslexic Learners, Understanding Austism and Children's and Young People's Mental Health.

In 2025, I completed training to become a fully qualified Drawing and Talking Practitioner. This is a gentle and safe therapeutic approach which provides an effective way for both children and adults to process emotional pain and trauma.
