Catherine Thompson

I am a qualified Primary Teacher with over three years of classroom experience in London schools, teaching across Key Stage 2 and supporting children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. My lessons are engaging, personalised, and carefully planned to help children build confidence and achieve their goals.

I believe children learn best when lessons are tailored to their individual needs, interests, and learning styles. I take time to understand each pupil’s strengths, areas for development, and interests, using this knowledge to create lessons that are both effective and enjoyable. My aim is to make learning fun and engaging while helping children develop confidence across the primary curriculum.

I provide support in Maths, reading, spelling, punctuation, and grammar (SPaG), helping children strengthen key skills while developing a deeper understanding of concepts. I use a range of resources and creative approaches, including practical activities and problem-solving tasks, to make learning accessible, encourage curiosity, and help children feel successful in their learning.

Whether a child needs support with key skills, preparation for SATs, or extra challenge to extend their knowledge, I provide patient and targeted guidance. My goal is not only to support academic progress but also to help pupils become confident, independent learners who enjoy learning and feel proud of their achievements.
