I have over 26 years teaching experience. I have taught German from beginner to adult learners and French to primary-aged children all the way up to GCSE level. I have tutored on a 1-2-1 basis as well as teaching large classes in a formal setting. I have a degree in German and Politics and spent a total of 5 years living and working in Germany. I have worked as a head of Modern Languages in secondary schools for a number of years. As a tutor who is passionate and enthusiastic, I spend time to get to know you, your requirements and your preferred learning style. This is to find out exactly what you want or need to get out of your language tutoring sessions. WIth a specific goal in mind (interim or final), I then use that information to plan engaging tutoring sessions, sourcing the best resources to guide and support us. These could be exam board materials, text books, authentic materials such as audio or visual resources, or games like blooket or battleships. Sessions can focus on speaking and understanding the spoken language, as well as reading and writing accurately and the grammar required to do this. Lessons can be as light-hearted and fun or as complex as you like, and you and/or your goal determine the pace. I have a proven track record at exam level in both German and French and I am fully DBS-checked. I have availability late afternoons, evenings and weekends mainly. I look forward to working with you and hope that you will both enjoy your tutoring sessions as well as finding them useful and rewarding.
