My lessons are friendly, well-structured, and always tailored to the needs of each individual student. Whether you’re preparing for an ABRSM exam, working through GCSE or A-level coursework, studying music at university, or just learning theory to support your own musical journey, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build clarity and confidence step by step.

I’ve been tutoring music theory since 2014 and hold two Master’s degrees—one in Music Theory and one in Music Education. I’m also a qualified teacher with experience across primary, secondary, and university-level education. I’ve taught GCSE and A-level music in school settings and have supported students through ABRSM Grades 1–8 theory exams as well as undergraduate coursework in harmony, counterpoint, analysis, and form.

Lessons are usually one-to-one and take place online, using a mix of shared whiteboards, annotated scores, written exercises, listening examples, and discussion. I adapt each lesson to the student’s preferred pace and learning style, and I’m always happy to revisit material as needed or explore topics in more depth.

My teaching style is warm, supportive, and practical. I aim to make music theory feel approachable and relevant by connecting concepts to music you already enjoy or perform. I also have extensive experience working with students who are dyslexic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent, and I place a high value on creating a learning space where every student feels respected, understood, and encouraged.

If theory has ever felt confusing or intimidating, I’d love to help you discover that it doesn’t have to be. With the right support, it can become a clear and even enjoyable part of your musical toolkit.
