My lessons are friendly, encouraging and completely personalised to the individual learner. With over 25 years’ experience as a qualified teacher, SEND specialist, senior leader and Educational Assessor, I understand that no two learners are the same. My first priority is to understand your strengths, challenges, learning style and goals, and then create sessions that work for you.
I specialise in supporting children, teenagers and young adults with dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, specific learning difficulties (SpLD) and executive functioning challenges. Lessons can focus on reading and writing, study and revision skills, organisation, planning, time management, attention, memory, self-regulation and approaching assignments with greater confidence.
Sessions are structured but flexible. We might work with current schoolwork, break a difficult assignment into manageable steps, develop strategies for planning written work, practise reading techniques or explore ways to improve organisation and independent study. I use clear explanations, visual approaches and practical strategies, adapting the pace and format throughout the lesson.
Importantly, I do not simply help students complete homework. My goal is to help learners understand how they learn best and develop strategies they can use independently across different subjects and situations.
As a qualified Educational Assessor registered with the British Psychological Society, I also bring an assessment-informed understanding of individual learning profiles.
Above all, my lessons are positive, supportive and confidence-building. I want every learner to feel understood, recognise their strengths and leave our sessions feeling more confident, capable and independent. I also celebrate progress, however small, and encourage students to recognise what they can do. Together, we build practical strategies that reduce frustration, make learning feel manageable and create positive habits for future success.
