About me

Throughout my teaching experience, I have learnt that one format or method does not suit all.

However, I know what works well and what does not, when teaching the English Language.

Throughout my teaching experience, I have learnt that one format or method does not suit all.

However, I know what works well and what does not, when teaching the English Language.

Adults who are absolute beginners to the English Language, I have taught them using phonic flash cards and games.
Children at primary school who need extra support in the English Language, I have taught them methods and key comprehension and grammar skills and assessed them regularly.

I have gained knowledge on how to keep the students engaged, going from a dependent learner to an independent student.
Initially, I use learner centre methods and work around the student’s needs. I elicit and drill and keep teacher talking time to a minimum. Tasks and exercises are handed out to the student, either interactive online or via worksheets. I provide homework with prompt feedback.

I encourage my students to speak, ask questions and participate in lessons. Many discussions take place in my lessons and comprehensions are completed on a regular basis, as well as reading and contemplating on what has been read.

Assessments are conducted regularly to ensure the students are progressing well or to see where the gaps are.

My aim is to allow my students to reach their full potential and goals.

I have used books, flash cards, games, Montessori method games, online teaching tools, power points and apps when needed.
I specialise in teaching English Grammar rules to school students rules and conversational English.
I go beyond and above and have access to resources that are used in many private and grammar schools.
