I’m a private tutor who loves to share my art skills and classroom experience with my students in a one-to-one or small group setting. I have a range of experience and can support students at any level, however I will not be able to award any qualification, but simply support and enhance an existing program of study (if gcse or a level stage of learning).
In my lessons you will explore mark-making in various forms, and try a variety of media; encouraged to use the materials which are most accessible to you in a creative, ‘with what you have’ way. -This is something I feel passionate about. This will include drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, sculpture and contextual studies. My lessons are practical and referenced to skills, learning objectives, artist links and outcomes. As a practising illustrator I champion drawing and visual communication.
My lessons are designed to help build a body of work to demonstrate proficiency and variety, to support students in their next steps. This will be through a sketchbook (/and an online portfolio if they wish). If students wish to gain extra support for an existing program of study this can be discussed (as I am qualified to MA level, with BA (Hons) in Illustration, and hold a full PGCE Art secondary, with QTS).
I regularly teach adults beginner-friendly sessions, and I have supported a few in-person home-educated students, but I’m equally comfortable with students from ks2 primary upwards who want to engage with their art.
I fully adapt to your individual needs. You will have fun, get practical experience and improve your art core skills, so if this sounds a good fit, let’s have a conversation.
