I like to teach and present using visual aids as much as possible and where it can be the most helpful. For example if I am teaching vocabulary,
I may use photos of cats (gatos in Spanish). Or if I am talking about vegetation that may be in the lesson I may put up a photo of Trees ( arboles in Spanish) and so on.
I like to enjoy what I am teaching and I want those I am responsible for in learning the language to also enjoy it as they learn. I may read from a book and have the student read as well. Then pause and break down what was just read so they can grasp the meanings of the what the topic was and slow it down for exercise in pronunciation.
Also, in teaching the language it is much more interesting and fun to make games out of lessons so it doesn't become so tedious and the student isn't just stuck with their nose in a book. That is how I learned, and verbalizing more often than just reading over and over, helps to make a person more comfortable hearing themselves speak the words of a foreign tongue. I find learning a second language can open doors to so many new possibilities and experiences, it truly can be an eye opener!
Also, so I am clear, I don't reside in the UK I"m unable to enter my proper location, I reside in the USA(class online)
