My lessons are hands-on, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. I typically structure sessions in three parts:
Introduction & Concepts – We start by breaking down the fundamentals of the tool we’re focusing on (whether it’s Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, or another program). I’ll explain not only how the tools work, but why they’re useful in real creative workflows.
Guided Practice – I share my screen (and encourage students to do the same) so we can work through real projects together. For video editing, this might include organising footage, cutting clips to music, adding transitions, colour correction, or exporting for different platforms. For image editing, we’ll practice retouching, compositing, masking, filters, and preparing files for web or print.
Application & Projects – Students apply what they’ve learned by creating something of their own. This could be editing a short video, designing a social media post, or experimenting with photo manipulations. I give feedback in real time, suggest shortcuts, and share professional techniques I’ve used in my own editing work.
My experience comes from working on a variety of projects—from short films and marketing content to photo retouching and digital art. I focus on teaching not just technical skills, but also creative decision-making, so students gain confidence in developing their own style.
