It will mainly be online sessions. I will prepare documents and PowerPoints for us to go over during class. There will be quizzes and questions to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses so that we can target specific areas together and improve faster.

Since I was taught German in a German-speaking country, I know many different tricks and strategies to help students remember and improve. Additionally, I am the only fluent/native German speaker in my family, so I’m used to teaching my relatives. I want the lessons to be relaxed but also informative and helpful — keeping within the abilities of the student while still pushing them to progress.

Because German is a difficult language, and I have experienced first-hand how dry some topics can be, I’ll do my best to keep things engaging. Depending on the student’s motivation and ability, I may also provide optional homework and other activities to work on in their free time. Of course, I will give reviews and feedback on anything done outside teaching hours.

As for me as a teacher, I’m comfortable with both formal and informal settings, though many students find it easier if they can speak more openly with me. As I am on the younger side, students who are still attending school may find it easier to relate to me — think of it as having a friend who studies with you. That said, my main goal is always to help the student, and I’m committed to providing that support during your learning journey.
