My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and supportive, with a strong focus on helping students build both understanding and confidence in GCSE English Language and English Literature. Each lesson lasts one hour and is delivered online in small group sessions, which allows for interaction, discussion, and personalised support where needed.
At the start of each lesson, I briefly outline the learning objectives so students know exactly what we are focusing on. I then teach the key content in a step-by-step way, breaking down complex ideas into simpler parts. I often use examples, guided explanations, and short tasks to help reinforce understanding. I also encourage students to ask questions throughout, as I believe active participation is key to learning.
A typical lesson will include explanation, practice, and review. After introducing a topic, I will give students short activities or exam-style questions to apply what they have learned. We will then go through answers together, discussing how to improve and what examiners are looking for. This helps students develop both knowledge and exam technique.
My experience as a senior prefect, along with mentoring younger students and running school clubs, has helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills. I am patient, approachable, and confident in adapting my teaching style to suit different learners.
Overall, my lessons are supportive and engaging, with the aim of helping students improve their English skills, gain confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
