I am new to tutoring but do have lots of experience in helping and working through problems with my peers. I understand everyone has their own preferred methods of learning so will adapt my lessons accordingly. The style that I will be taking will be trying to create a relaxed learning environment, where the student will feel comfortable asking any questions they may have. I will begin lessons by getting a grasp of the student's current knowledge and then working from there to build a strong foundation, which we can then expand upon to stretch and challenge the student. I will adopt the approach that worked so well with my education, that is to always ask questions - with no question being stupid. I hope to bring a level of enthusiasm to my lessons that will hopefully be shared by the student by the end of them. I can also share my own experiences with studying Maths and Physics through both GCSE and A-level, and the strategies that I used whilst studying to achieve high grades; I believe anyone can do it, all that is needed is a bit of hard work, but more importantly, we need to establish a motivation for wanting to learn and improve.
A final note. Being a recent graduate, I have made the decision to take a year out before finding a career. This means I have plenty of availability for working with my students. You can be assured that I will put in the work to make your lessons as useful and enjoyable as possible, to ensure you get your money's worth.
I look forward to hearing from you and begin our learning.
Billy :)
