Hi, I’m Beth! I’m a tutor, home-educating parent and co-founder of my own tuition business, and I’ve been tutoring children and young people for several years.
I’m definitely not the scary, strict teacher type! I like my sessions to feel relaxed and friendly – more like having one of your mum’s friends helping you figure something out than sitting through another formal lesson.
I work with children of different ages and abilities, including lots of learners with dyslexia, autism, ADHD and other additional needs. I’m a big believer that there isn’t one way to learn, and sometimes we just need to find the way that works for that particular child.
I love creating lessons around the things my learners are actually interested in. Football, gaming, horses, true crime, Minecraft – whatever they love, I’ll find a way to use it! Building that relationship and helping a child feel comfortable and confident comes before anything else for me.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Education and Training, Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning, alongside additional training in areas including dyslexia, autism and challenging behaviour.
I also teach Functional Skills English and have achieved a 100% pass rate in Level 2 Speaking, Listening & Communication and a 98% pass rate across Reading and Writing.
Most importantly, I want learners to leave my sessions thinking, “Actually, I can do this.”
Afrer private tutoring for the past 5 years, I can confidently say those "I get it now" moments are my absolute favourite!
