Bethan Taylor

Bethan is the founder of Empower Sensory Services, a specialist provider of sensory
resources, tutoring, and family support for individuals and communities touched by
autism and additional learning needs (ALN).
With 22 years of experience teaching and supporting individuals with complex
needs, Bethan brings a wealth of knowledge, genuine dedication, and deep personal
commitment to her work. She understands that every child is unique, and that truly
effective support must be tailored, compassionate, and built on trust.
Bethan holds specialist training across a broad range of approaches, including Sign-
a-Long (key word signing), PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System),
TEACCH structured teaching, Precision Teaching, Rebound Therapy, Team Teach
positive behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, epilepsy awareness and
management, and the use of workstation-based independent learning systems. This
breadth of training means she can draw on the right tools for each individual child,
rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Every tutoring session is designed specifically around your child. Sessions are built
around their interests to keep them motivated, delivered at their pace with no
pressure, and informed by programmes from their Speech and Language,
Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy teams where relevant. Above all, Bethan’s
sessions focus on building confidence just as much as skills — because a child who
feels safe and valued is a child who can truly learn.
