As a third-year BA (Hons) Primary Education with English with QTS student, who only has 6 months until I qualify, I bring a warm, inclusive, and adaptive approach to every tutoring session. My experience working with a wide range of learners has taught me that every child thrives when they feel understood, supported, and engaged. Because of this, I design lessons that are flexible, creative, and tailored to each student’s individual needs, learning style, and interests.
My sessions often begin with a short check-in, allowing students to share what they’ve been learning at school, how they’re feeling, and anything they’re excited about. This helps me shape the lesson around what motivates them—whether that’s sports, art, animals, gaming, stories, or hands-on exploration. By weaving their personal interests into learning activities, I make academic concepts feel meaningful, fun, and easier to grasp.
I use a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, interactive games, practical tasks, storytelling, and step-by-step explanations. For students who need a little extra support, I break tasks into manageable chunks and provide plenty of encouragement. For students who learn best by doing, I include creative activities, movement, or real-life examples. I consistently adapt my pace, resources, and teaching strategies to match the learner in front of me.
My goal in every session is to build confidence, spark curiosity, and help students feel proud of their progress. I create a safe, positive learning environment where mistakes are seen as part of the journey, questions are always welcome, and learning feels enjoyable and empowering.
