For my classes, I generally use 3 devices to connect to the call - my laptop, IPad (and IPad pen), and desktop.
I use my laptop for the camera and microphone.
I connect my IPad to the session and share the screen to use it as a white/blackboard. On this, I write down all the notes, diagrams, and schematics that we discuss throughout all of our sessions. This makes the sessions very dynamic, engaging, and live.

Finally, I join on my desktop and share the screen when there are any good short videos or clips (e.g. live demonstrations, visual aids, etc.) to watch together that are helpful in learning a certain topic. I pause the video and ask questions as we go through, and add more detail where necessary. Students tend to find this a very helpful way to learn too. I adapt this teaching style based on my student's needs.

Students have given very positive feedback over the way sessions are run. I weave in questions in our sessions to make sure we are able to apply the theory in practice. If the student agrees, I also tend to provide about 20-30 minutes worth of questions between each class (relevant to the last class we had). We can then go over these at the start of the next class where I give thorough feedback.

We engaged Ben to provide extra support for Biology GCSE study. We found Ben to be an excellent tutor and more importantly my son thought so too. Ben took great pride in writing engaging, fun lessons, encouraging critical thinking and problem solving. Ben’s explanations were always clear and easy to understand, which greatly improved my son’s grasp of complex concepts. We particularly appreciated his patience in going over challenging topics as well as answering questions, (including his use of real-life examples) which made the subject more engaging. Of particular note is the trouble he took to write comprehensive feedback through regular reports back to us. Overall, Ben’s dedication and expertise as a biology tutor have been instrumental in my son’s progress and achieving a high grade to enable A-level study.
