Every student is different so each lesson I give is tailor made for you. Music however is universal. It's a wonderful way of expressing ourselves in ways we simply can't do with words alone. The piano is one of the most versatile instruments in the world. It can play everything from simple melodies to the full sound of an orchestra; from pop and rock to classical and jazz. I've explored many genres of music whilst playing and continue to do so. My students can join me on a wonderful learning experience into the world of music. My passion and enthusiasm is what motivates young and old, and I can pass on the skills and techniques required to help you play what you have always wanted to play.

Most lessons will start with variety of warm up exercises, designed to give you the physical abilities required of the fingers and hands. Depending on the age of the student, games can be used, or a more detailed explanation for mature students. Often what follows is the best bit! Playing songs you've always wanted to learn, or a challenging and engaging variety of pieces chosen by me to ensure progress each week. This can be interwined with musical exploration, theory, duets, interactive tasks and more. A clear plan of what you will play and learn and home is outlined and recorded at the end of the lesson. That sets the way for the most important part, your onward practise and skill development through the week. In this way, any one can learn and play piano!
