I am currently a university student studying Software Engineering with a strong passion for Mathematics and teaching. Although my main field of study is technology and software development, Mathematics has always been one of the subjects that inspired me the most because it develops logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities, which are essential in both engineering and everyday life. My interest in teaching comes from my desire to help students understand that Maths is not something to fear, but rather a powerful tool that can be useful, interesting, and even enjoyable when taught in the right way.
My teaching style focuses on making Mathematics clear, engaging, and accessible for every student, regardless of their current ability level. I understand that many students find Maths challenging or confusing, so I aim to create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and learning at their own pace. I strongly believe that every student has the ability to improve in Mathematics when they receive proper guidance, support, and encouragement.
One of the key principles of my teaching approach is understanding rather than memorising. Instead of asking students to simply remember formulas and procedures, I focus on helping them understand the logic behind mathematical concepts and how different methods work. During lessons, I explain topics step by step in a simple and organised manner, ensuring that students fully understand each stage before moving on to more advanced problems. I also use practical examples, visual explanations, and real-life applications to make lessons more meaningful and relatable. As a Software Engineering student, I often connect Mathematics with technology, programming, and problem-solving situations to show students how Maths is applied in modern careers and real-world industries.
I also believe that mistakes are an important part of learning. In my classroom, students will never be criticised for getting an answer wrong. Instead, mistakes will be treated as opportunities to learn, improve, and think more deeply. I encourage students to participate actively, work together, and develop confidence in their own abilities. I aim to create a respectful, supportive, and motivating learning environment where everyone feels valued and encouraged to do their best.
My goal as a future educator is not only to help students achieve excellent academic results, but also to help them develop confidence, critical thinking skills, discipline, and a genuine appreciation for Mathematics. I hope to inspire students to become curious learners who are willing to challenge themselves, think logically, and apply their knowledge both inside and outside the classroom.
