Ben Minskip

I am a qualified secondary teacher specialising in History, with experience teaching Humanities, Geography, RE and English. I am approachable, patient and organised, and I enjoy building trusting relationships with young people so they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and growing in confidence. My classroom experience has involved working with mixed-ability classes and pupils with additional learning needs, adapting explanations, resources and activities to suit individual strengths, needs and learning styles.

As a tutor, I would use this personalised approach to identify where a student needs the most support, whether that is subject knowledge, reading and writing skills, exam technique, organisation or confidence. I use clear modelling, targeted questioning, regular feedback and achievable goals to help pupils see steady progress. I aim to make sessions engaging and encouraging, while giving students the structure and skills they need to become more independent and confident learners.
