With sixteen years of experience teaching Biology and Science, I have learned that the most effective way to help students grasp complex concepts—like those in A-Level and GCSE curricula—is to reduce cognitive load while maximizing engagement.

?I integrate dual coding into every lesson. By combining verbal explanations with purposeful, simplified visual representations (such as annotated diagrams or flowcharts), I provide your brain with two ways to encode information. This makes abstract biological processes easier to visualize, store, and—most importantly—retrieve during assessments. You won't just hear about how a DNA molecule is structured or how an action potential travels; you will see it built piece by piece, helping you anchor that knowledge in your long-term memory.

The "I Do, We Do, You Do" Model
?My lessons are structured to build your confidence and competence systematically, following the "I do, We do, You do" framework:
?I Do (The Model): I explicitly model the expert thinking required to solve a problem or understand a concept. I narrate my thought process so you can see exactly how to approach the material.
?We Do (Guided Practice): We work through examples together. This is a collaborative phase where we address misconceptions in real-time, ensuring you feel supported before you work independently.
?You Do (Independent Practice): Once you have the tools, you apply them yourself. This is where fluency is developed.
