I prefer a classic teaching method, where I will go through the content, encouraging questions and queries, then following up with revision on the current and previous content. Doing well in exams is unfortunately purely memorisation, so after a complete understanding of the content is achieved, this will be the main focus.
I try to have a very casual and friendly atmosphere, especially as the formal and strict relationships that students can have with teachers can be discouraging and tiring. Stress can be detrimental to learning and will be avoided at all costs.
I have been an informal tutor for friends and family for a long time, thus I believe I can be helpful for anyone struggling or aiming for better results. My hourly rate is very negotiable, as tutoring should be accessible to anyone in education. My availability is flexible.
I was born in Brazil, and was raised in England by a Portuguese-only speaking family therefore have very high fluency in both languages. Learning a new language does not have to be as intimidating and complicated as it may seem. I am currently teaching my partner how to speak Portuguese, and he has progressed from a complete beginner to intermediate fluency.
I achieved an A* in my Biology A level, a 9 in my Biology GCSE, and am currently studying Neuroscience at the University of Exeter.
