As a university student studying Medical Sciences, I have a fresh updated understanding on Biological processes. Having done HL Biology scoring a high 6 (out if 7) in my final IB exams, I am able to help other students understand and prepare for any upcoming assessments as I understand how to uncover each student’s inquisitive nature for the sciences while providing them with keywords examiners often look out for in long question answers. I am a strong believer in visual learning and prefer to draw out processes/mechanisms and organisms (e.g cells, organs, tissues etc.) with my students, allowing them to test their own knowledge through labelling and recalling. In combination with slides, practice questions and the use of textbooks, I help my students understand what they’re learning thoroughly and how each topic is connected to each other. In a content heavy subject that requires memorisation for examinations such as Biology, my tried and tested methods have never failed as they too helped me excel in my examinations. My teaching style can be flexible if needed as well, as I taught iGCSE Maths, Biology and Chemistry to my previous students, aiding in any ongoing assignments or certain topics they had requested; leaning towards a more relaxed session that nudged the student in homework motivation, giving them the attention they may need for any questions or misunderstandings along with extra practice in topics I found needing improvements due to lack of basic understanding or difficulty in retaining methods to solving certain questions. Thus, while I will be here to provide support wherever needed, I can also act as a teacher, going through syllabus with my student, aiding in exam preparation or general deep topic understanding.
