Even though Biology can be memorization-heavy, my goal is still to develop genuine interest and a personalized path to proficiency, so much so that my students can confidently explain the subject themselves.
I noticed a pattern: the more engaging the sessions, the more memorable the material becomes. I do this by identifying what interests the student most in the chapter and building from there. I also employ analogies and modern, real-world applications of the concept, among other methods.
I prioritize empowering students to find their own anchors for concepts, helping them understand ideas in a way that promotes long-term retention. For example, I may ask a student to explain a concept back to me as if they were the teacher.
My passion for teaching really developed while helping my peers throughout my degree. During my undergraduate degree, I regularly tutored junior students, helping them understand difficult concepts and course material. I also tutored a Grade 4 student (American curriculum) for several months across most of his core school subjects.
Biology is my main area of expertise, particularly O-Levels, AS, IMAT, and college-level Microbiology. In addition, I can tutor Chemistry, Physics, and other school subjects up to Year 10.
I also recently sat the 2026 IMAT, achieving a perfect score in Biology (23/23 questions correct).
