Aylin Mutlu

My lessons are relaxed, interactive and tailored to each student. I start by understanding what you’re currently working on, what you find challenging and what you would like to achieve, so that our sessions are focused on what will actually help you.

Depending on your goals, we might work through a literary text together, practise close analysis, develop essay plans, improve written expression, or work through exam-style questions. I like to break more difficult concepts into manageable steps and then give you the opportunity to apply them yourself. Rather than simply giving you model answers, I’ll help you understand how to develop strong ideas and communicate them effectively.

I also encourage discussion. English doesn’t always have one obvious interpretation, so I want you to feel comfortable sharing your ideas, questioning a text and exploring different perspectives. We can use our sessions to build both your subject knowledge and your confidence in expressing your own opinions.

As a UCL English graduate, I bring strong experience in literary analysis, academic writing and critical thinking. I’ll also adapt the pace and structure of lessons depending on your age, level and learning style.

Most importantly, I want lessons to feel supportive rather than stressful. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, working on an essay or simply want to become more confident in English, we’ll work together towards clear, achievable goals.
