I have experience working with children at youth groups, helping sessions to run smoothly and I have volunteered at the hospital for two years which allowed me to improve my interpersonal skills. I have experience tutoring my siblings and family friends and now want to help other students reach that ‘ah-ha moment’ ??
I appreciate that every student has a different learning style so I talk an approach where I tailor my lesson to the individual stuedent’s needs. For example using whiteboards/screens for visual learners and creating my own visual representations of difficult concepts. I also like to ensure my students are consolidating what they’ve learnt by going through practice questions together. As someone who struggled with certain topics in high school, I know the difference a good teacher can make to help you overcome these hurdles!
