My lessons are dynamic and student-centred. My aim is to capitalise on a student’s motivation to learn or to enthuse students to learn languages. I use primarily the school’s material as a reference and complement it with my own authentic ressources such as MFL manuals, magazine articles, video clips of French bands, job descriptions, comics, all this to boost motivation and retention. I seek creative ways to make learning meaningful and use the Francophone culture to help students connect with the language both academically and empirically. I also emphasise on native speaker’s accents so that grammar, vocabulary, cultural references and accent are acquired together.
In my lessons, the main language of communication is French and I will adapt to the actual level of the student. I value personalised learning and the importance of differentiated activities in order to meet students’ educational needs.
It is essential to me that less able students are supported and encouraged and that more able students’ skills are challenged and stretched.
I differentiate the learning objectives by level and I like to help students set their own learning objectives. I provide them with keywords, scaffolding, modelling and extension material.
