Audrey Ho

I am a second year University student with a high proficiency in Mathematics and STEM subjects, and have previous experiences in helping students achieve their academic goals. I have achieved high grades in both Highers and Advanced Highers (both being an A grade).

During my time as a tutor at Volunteer Tutors Organisation, I worked with students from P1-P6 to improve their skills on mathematical solving and counting. I have also tutored students preparing for GCSE. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding and help students become more confident in problem solving. This has resulted in grade improvements in their exams.

My approach to tutoring involves tailored curriculum for each individual student and breaking down complex concepts to make them easier to understand. After each lesson, I provide a clear recap of the lesson and optional follow up exercises to reinforce learning. With previous experiences as a tutor, I aim to utilise a wide range of online tools e.g. quizlet, online whiteboards to make the virtual lesson as interactive as possible. With the help of visual aids, I believe it can make learning enjoyable.

I also strive to provide a positive and supportive learning environment, by encouraging them to keep trying and practicing, because practice makes perfect !
