I have a strong academic background across Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. I achieved an A* in GCSE Physics, an A in GCSE Chemistry and an A in GCSE Biology, before continuing Biology and Geography to A level. I achieved an A* in Geography at both GCSE and A level, and I am now studying Biology at university. This academic experience has given me a strong foundation in the sciences, alongside a detailed understanding of Geography at both GCSE and A level.
Through studying Biology at A level and now at university, I have developed knowledge across areas including cell biology, biological molecules, genetics, ecology, evolution, physiology and practical scientific skills. My GCSE Physics and Chemistry studies also provided me with a strong understanding of scientific principles, calculations, practical work and applying knowledge to unfamiliar problems.
My tutoring approach is friendly, patient and personalised. I recognise that every student learns differently, so I would first identify their strengths, weaknesses and individual goals before adapting lessons accordingly. I aim to develop genuine understanding rather than relying solely on memorisation, helping students become confident in explaining concepts and applying their knowledge independently.
Lessons would combine clear explanations, questioning, worked examples, retrieval practice and exam-style questions. I place particular emphasis on exam technique and applying knowledge to unfamiliar scenarios, while regularly revisiting previous topics to strengthen long-term understanding.
I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is to make subjects accessible and engaging while helping students build the knowledge, confidence and examination skills needed to achieve their potential.
