Hi, my names Ashlee and I’m a university graduate from London in the UK.
I recently returned back to London after working as an English Language Teacher in Guangzhou in China, teaching children ages 3-12. I then spent 3 months in Taiwan where I also did some English tutoring after school, with elementary students ages 7-9.
This was my first time visiting Asia, so I also took the time to explore the food, culture, and made some really good friends!
During this time I successfully completed a Level 5 TEFL certification, where I was able to expand on my knowledge of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I learned a wider variety of teaching methods and techniques, as well strengthening my understanding of different learner needs.
I myself had actually been learning Chinese briefly before arriving to China, so it was my first time putting my new language skills into practice, which was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but I learned some new words along the way, and communicating with native speakers really helped me to improve my pronunciation and increased my confidence.
So I’ve been in your shoes and completely understand how challenging it can be to try and learn a new language on your own, so having the right support really helps.
But learning should still be fun right? So to keep classes engaging, I’ll combine a variety of reading, writing, speaking, and listening exercises tailored to your needs for an enjoyable and educational lesson–I hope to see you soon!
