Teaching geared in line with syllabus and specification requirements for examining boards. Learning objectives set and student appraised to see if objectives met.
Regular testing with series of homework exercises to gauge the level of understanding and attainment. My style is to make the student feel at ease during teaching sessions and pass on my knowledge and experience of teaching biology for over a 40 yr period. In addition, getting students to regularily do exam board questions so they become familiar with type of questions and to improve exam technique.
In my teaching I am keen on rigour and this concept will be passed onto students under my charge.
During my active teaching at an upper school college I managed to achieve a high level of success across all age ranges. These included teaching gcse biology, chemistry and physics. Over 3 decades I taught A biology and as a head of biology ran the dept in a smmoth and efficient manner.
In previous yrs, I have privately tutored many students and many of them have gone onto become doctors, progressed onto university courses and gained success in other professinal fields.
I, now have the urge and motivation to carry out more private tuition sessions with students who require that extra help to move on and achieve higher objectives. Some students are overwhelmed at school with the shear mass of curriculm matter they have to deal with from day to day. This can prove to much they could do with help.
