My lessons are warm, structured, and confidence-building, designed to help primary-age children feel secure, supported, and proud of their progress in maths. Each session follows a clear routine so children know what to expect: a quick warm-up to revisit previous learning, a focused teaching section where I introduce or reinforce a key concept, and plenty of guided practice where we work through problems together. I use simple explanations, step-by-step modelling, and lots of visual methods to make tricky ideas easier to understand. Children are encouraged to ask questions, try things out, and learn from mistakes without pressure.
I adapt every lesson to the child’s level, pace, and learning style. If a student needs more time on a topic, we slow down and build solid foundations; if they’re ready for a challenge, I stretch their thinking with problem-solving tasks and reasoning questions. My experience working with primary learners means I understand common difficulties—like times tables, fractions, word problems, and place value—and I know how to break them down into manageable steps.
Lessons are interactive and engaging, using practical examples, games, and real-life contexts to make maths meaningful. I regularly check understanding and give gentle feedback so children can see their progress. My aim is always the same: to help every child grow in confidence, enjoy maths more, and feel capable of achieving their best.
