Ariana Jones

Hello, my name is Ariana (??), and I am currently attending my third year of study at the University of Glasgow, where I am undertaking the BSc (Hons) Neuroscience programme. I have previous experience working in educational environments, and I also have work experience specific to online tutoring that I am very excited to continue with. As a full-time student, I am eager to share my passion for learning within the subjects and curriculum that I am experienced in, including those of:
- IB DP curriculum (Higher Level Subjects: Biology, Psychology, Visual Arts) (Standard Level Subjects: English A Lang and Lit, Chinese B, Math Analysis)
- IB MYP curriculum
- English as a foreign language subject (in Mandarin Chinese)
- Mandarin Chinese (in conversational Cantonese and English)
- Biology (including skills specific to: data analysis, data interpretation and scientific communication)

Currently, my strengths and experience lie with foreign language tutoring. While I was previously living in Hong Kong, I taught English at a beginner-level in Mandarin Chinese under the employment of Kawina Lee. I worked under a flexible schedule both in-person and remotely, and I designed and employed personalised study plans to develop self-directed learning skills, analytical skills and language comprehension abilities.

Besides working as a private tutor, I have experience working in educational environments with students within the age range of 11-18 years old. I prioritise developing a strong line of communication and engagement with the learning content more than anything else, and I am happy to discuss lesson-planning to suit the preferences of each individual.
