My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs, combining clear guidance with confidence-building support. I use a calm, student-centred format that balances explanation, discussion, and active practice, ensuring learners fully understand both the content and the skills they are developing. For Lower level guided reading, lessons focus on building strong comprehension skills through close reading, vocabulary development, and thoughtful discussion. I guide students through texts step by step, helping them interpret meaning, infer ideas, and express their thoughts clearly, while encouraging curiosity and enjoyment of reading. For GCSE English Language and History, my lessons are exam-focused but accessible, breaking down complex topics, mark schemes, and question types into manageable steps. We work through exam-style questions together, analyse model answers, and practise timed responses to build confidence and accuracy. I place strong emphasis on essay structure, analytical writing, and using evidence effectively, while also helping students strengthen spelling, punctuation, and grammar where needed. My tutoring experience has taught me how to adapt lessons to different learning styles and ability levels, whether a student needs extra support, structured revision, or a confidence boost before exams. Lessons are interactive and supportive, with regular feedback and clear targets so students always know how to improve. Overall, my aim is to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, develop strong academic skills, and make steady, measurable progress. In terms of communication, I will send a lesson report detailing what we covered and what I intend to cover next lesson to the parent/guardian.
