My lessons are conducted entirely online, one-to-one, over video call. I keep the format simple and structured: I start each session with a quick check-in to see how the student got on with anything since our last lesson, whether that's homework, a topic they were unsure about, or an upcoming test they're preparing for.
I build each lesson around a specific topic or skill rather than trying to cover too much ground. I'll typically walk through the concept using a worked example first, sharing my screen so the student can follow along step by step, then move on to practice questions so they're applying the method themselves rather than just watching. I check in regularly throughout to make sure nothing's been missed before moving on, and I'm always happy to slow down, repeat something, or explain it a different way if it hasn't landed the first time.
I studied Economics at the University of Warwick, where I used advanced quantitative and mathematical methods throughout my degree, building on an A* I achieved in Maths at A-Level. While I'm new to formal tutoring, I've spent years explaining concepts informally to friends and family, and I know how to break a problem down until it makes sense, without making anyone feel rushed or judged for not getting it immediately.
I aim to make every lesson feel relaxed and genuinely useful, not just another hour of studying. My goal is for students to leave each session having understood something properly, and with a bit more confidence than they walked in with.
