Growing up bilingual, my eagerness for learning languages stemmed from an early age.
When it comes to learning languages, the most effective way of learning is cultural immersion. Not only would we focus on the fundamental linguistic skills (translation, grammar, reading, speaking, listening, writing) but also the education of the culture of the country (or countries) that the language being taught is officially spoken. That includes certain traditions, history, cinema, music and cuisine.
My priority is to share my deep passion and enthusiasm to my students and that hopefully, it could be manifested to cultivate an interest for learning languages in the student.
For students who are more advanced, I prefer to engage in the language that needs tutoring in as more conversation practice helps to improve speaking skills, particularly improving confidence in speaking in a foreign language.
I appreciate that learning a language does not come naturally to everyone and that it takes time and effort, but I assure you that with a can-do attitude, we can work together do increase the skills section of your CV.
