In my Italian lessons, I adopt a student-centred and flexible approach designed to meet individual learning goals. At the beginning of each course, I assess the student’s level, motivations, and specific needs, whether they are learning Italian for academic purposes, professional development, travel, or personal interest.
A typical lesson combines grammar, communication, and cultural context in a balanced way. For grammar, I explain key structures clearly and progressively, using practical examples rather than abstract rules. I then guide students through exercises that reinforce understanding and encourage active use of the language.
Conversation practice is an essential part of every lesson. I design speaking activities tailored to real-life situations, such as job interviews, workplace communication, academic discussions, or everyday interactions like shopping, travel, or socialising. This helps students build confidence and fluency in a natural and relevant way.
I also integrate aspects of Italian civilisation and culture, including traditions, history, and contemporary society, to make learning more engaging and meaningful. This cultural dimension supports deeper understanding of the language and its use in context.
Finally, I regularly adapt my teaching materials and methods according to the student’s progress. I provide feedback, revise difficult areas, and adjust the pace of learning to ensure continuous improvement. My goal is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable practising and developing their Italian skills effectively.
