My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and personalised to help every student make progress, regardless of their starting point. As a qualified Secondary School Science Teacher, I have experience working with pupils across a range of abilities, including both low attaining and high attaining students. I understand that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit their individual needs and learning style.

I use a variety of approaches, including clear explanations, questioning, visual resources, real life examples and guided practice, to make complex scientific concepts easier to understand and remember. For students who find science challenging, I break topics down into smaller, manageable steps and provide additional support and scaffolding. For high attaining students, I provide more challenging questions and encourage them to apply their knowledge, explain their thinking and develop deeper understanding.

I also provide support with exam preparation and exam technique, particularly for GCSE students. We can work through exam style questions together, identify what the question is asking, practise using scientific keywords and learn how to structure answers effectively to gain marks. I can also help students understand common mistakes and become more confident when approaching unfamiliar questions.

For KS3 students, I focus on building strong scientific foundations and developing their confidence before progressing to more challenging concepts.

Above all, I aim to create a friendly and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to make science accessible and enjoyable while helping every student reach their full potential.
