About Me & My Experience
I'm Aneeka, a third-year medical student with over four years of tutoring experience (in-person and online). I achieved at GCSE and now help students build confidence, master exam technique, and truly understand science, not just memorise it.
I've taught students of all abilities, from those targeting top grades, those needing foundational support and those needing special support, both online and in-person.
My Lesson Structure
Starter (5-10 mins): Every session begins with quick-fire questions from previous topics using active recall to this strengthens memory and ensures nothing is forgotten.
Teaching with Questions & Practice (20-25 mins): I introduce new content linked to the specification (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) using an online whiteboard so students can see everything in real time. I ask questions throughout to check understanding and use real-world examples (especially from their own experiences) to make science stick.
Exam-Style Questions (15-20 mins):
We apply learning to real past paper questions. I teach students how to decode command words, structure 6-mark answers, and avoid common examiner pitfalls.
Plenary & Homework (5 mins):
We summarise key takeaways and I set targeted homework to reinforce learning before the next session.
Tools & Format
· Sessions via Microsoft Teams
· Online whiteboard for visual learning (I also have a physical whiteboard for in-person sessions in Stoke)
· All resources and notes are accessible afterwards
After Every Session
I send parents a brief progress update: what we covered, how the student did, and next steps. Homework is shared clearly so students know exactly what to focus on.

[BONUS] Why I Teach Science
Honestly? Because science is genuinely cool. I'm the person who is intrigued about why cells divide, how enzymes actually work, and what happens when you mix chemicals (safely, of course). Studying medicine has only made me love it more - I get to see how the biology and chemistry I teach connects to real bodies, real patients and real lives.
I love that moment when a student's face lights up because something finally clicks. That's why I teach. Not just to get through the syllabus and help them pass an exam, but to help students see that science isn't scary - it's fascinating and it's real. And when you understand it, exams stop being intimidating and start being... almost enjoyable.
Thank you and I look forward to helping your child progress in their science knowledge!!
