We start by working out what you're finding tricky, whether that's a specific topic like enzyme kinetics or something broader like exam technique. Then we work through it together: I explain the idea, ask you to explain it back in your own words, before we practise it on real exam-style questions. Understanding is the basis of memorising, so I focus on why things work, because that's what lets you handle unfamiliar questions in the exam. I always make sure to include lots of exam style question practice once a student has built a solid conceptual understanding, as wording is crucial for gaining marks in GCSE and A level.
