Andres Ruiz

Hello! My name is Andres, and I am a Biology tutor with a Master of Philosophy in Medical, Molecular, and Veterinary Sciences from James Cook University in Australia. My research focused on natural products and the chemistry of Australian tropical plants, and I have hands-on experience in microbiology, metabolomics, and analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, and NMR. Alongside my research, I have worked as a teaching assistant at university level, supporting students in biology and chemistry courses.

My lessons are designed to be interactive, clear, and tailored to the needs of each student. I believe that every learner is different, so I adapt my explanations and exercises depending on whether you need help with exam preparation, a deeper understanding of difficult topics, or simply building confidence in science. I always aim to simplify complex concepts, using practical examples and real-world applications to make biology come alive.

For GCSE students, I can cover all the core topics such as genetics, cell biology, ecology, human physiology, and evolution. I also like to connect these subjects to modern scientific research so that students see how what they learn in class links to discoveries in medicine, the environment, and technology.
