About me

I was born and raised in Seville, Spain. As a native Spanish woman, I know the colloquial language better than anyone. I was born and raised in Seville, Spain. As a native Spanish woman, I know the colloquial language better than anyone. While the academic form is great in its own way, I plan to help students understand the language as it is spoken on the streets. Often times I feel that students may have an academic understanding but struggle in the real life situations. I have a passion to teach about my home, culture, and language unmatched I believe by people who aren’t born and raised in that environment. I would love to give the native perspective to the students and bring immersion to their experience.
In my lessons, I use real world experiences and relevant information tied into pop culture to convey the information across. Also, I use different situations that tend to stick with the particular age group that I'm working with. For example, with an adult, it could be a situation ordering coffee. I find that tying real life situations into language learning helps bond the student to the culture of the language and thus puts them into the Spanish cultural perspective. Instead of the high academic nonsense, I want to make Spanish accessible and fun.
My best student went from A2 to B2 in a couple of months and I like to use this example to showcase the rate that's possible for my methods.
I'm ready to explain any questions and help in any way I can on the challenging journey of language learning. I look forward to working with you all!
