When I start working with a student, I like to create a plan together so we are clear on what you are trying to achieve. This might be building confidence in GCSE Maths, improving exam technique in Biology or Chemistry, or preparing for interviews and admissions tests. I’m flexible around your needs — if something specific has come up that you’d like to focus on, we can do that; if not, we’ll work through a tailored plan designed just for you.

I always take time to understand your curriculum, exam board, or course requirements so that lessons are directly relevant. I’ll find and share useful resources to support your learning, and together we’ll build a strong foundation. My sessions are interactive and supportive, and I encourage lots of questions so you feel comfortable exploring topics in detail.

One of my favourite approaches is active recall, which I think is a fantastic way of learning. I incorporate this into lessons by revisiting past content while also tackling new material, ensuring that knowledge is reinforced and built upon over time. This method helps students retain information more effectively and feel more confident when it comes to tests and exams.

Most importantly, I want lessons to feel positive and encouraging. My aim is not just to help you learn the subject, but also to help you develop the skills and confidence to succeed on your own.
