Amy Coyne

My name is Amy and I am a Music teacher with 15+ years experience, having worked with many different students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. I am a friendly and approachable person who will always ensure that lessons are personalised and tailored to meet the needs of the students, ensuring that learners feel comfortable in the lesson to be able to ask questions and learn effectively.
I have worked in outstanding Schools working in the Music department - and successfully leading a Performing arts department in a Grammar School in Berkshire. During my time working in Schools I have a number of years' experience teaching both A level and GCSE Music- as well as Grade 5 theory tutoring and 1:1 Piano and Violin/Viola lessons.
I will always be led by the student in what they want to achieve and what format of lessons they would like, but I will always ensure resources and materials to support learning will be prepared and to make the lessons fun, engaging and accessible. I have an excellent sense of humour and will always ensure that students are made to feel comfortable whilst learning, without having fear of making mistakes.
I am extremely passionate about Music and this comes across with my teaching styles - some of the teachers I had when growing up used to make me feel afraid of making errors and when I first became a teacher, this was one of the many reasons why I wanted to pursue my career in Music education.
