My online lessons are structured, interactive, and designed to be just as engaging and effective as in-person tutoring. I aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Having worked as a tutor at Kumon, I understand the importance of building strong foundations and developing confidence through consistent practice.
Each lesson typically begins with a short review of previous work to identify strengths and areas for improvement. I then introduce new topics by breaking them down into clear, manageable steps, using simple explanations and worked examples. Students are guided through questions gradually, allowing them to apply what they have learned with support before working more independently.
I make regular use of online tools such as shared documents, digital whiteboards, and practice questions to keep lessons interactive and focused. After explaining a concept, I guide students through practice questions, offering immediate feedback and clear explanations of any mistakes. This helps students understand not just what went wrong, but why. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s pace and learning style, whether they need more repetition, visual explanations, or step-by-step guidance. I place a strong emphasis on accuracy, understanding, and developing good study habits, rather than rushing through content.
My lessons are aimed at primary, secondary and GCSE-level students, particularly those who want extra support, structured learning, or help building confidence in Biology, Health & Social Care, English LIT and LANG and Fine Art. I believe progress comes from patience and consistency, and I always encourage students by celebrating improvements, no matter how small.
Overall, my goal is to help students feel more confident in their abilities, improve their understanding, and develop a positive attitude towards learning.
