I am a reliable English and Psychology tutor because I combine strong academic knowledge with a supportive, learner-centred approach. Having achieved an A in A-level Psychology and an A* in A-level History - going on to study Psychology further at the University of Bath; I understand the skills required to succeed in essay-based subjects, from constructing strong arguments to meeting assessment criteria.

Alongside my academic background, I have developed valuable mentoring experience through my roles as both a Peer Mentor and Campus Buddy. These positions have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, build confidence in others, and adapt my support to each individual's needs. I strive to create a relaxed, non-judgemental environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and discussing any challenges they may be facing.

My teaching approach focuses on identifying each student's strengths and areas for development. I begin by analysing previous work to pinpoint recurring issues, before breaking down exactly what the syllabus and mark scheme are looking for. Rather than simply providing answers, I guide students through planning responses and developing effective revision strategies, before encouraging them to complete similar tasks independently to build confidence and long-term understanding.

Having been tutored myself, I also appreciate what makes lessons engaging and productive. I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting explanations to suit different learning styles. Above all, I welcome feedback and open conversations throughout the learning process, ensuring that lessons remain collaborative, enjoyable, and tailored to each student's individual goals.
